How to apply for a Library Card
Library cards are free to all Lake County residents and property owners.
Individuals may apply for a library card in person and must present photo identification. If the photo identification does not show the individual’s current local street address, any one of the items listed below must be presented as proof of residency:
Florida driver’s license
Florida identification card
Automobile registration
Current utility, cable, or phone bill
Children under the age of 16 who apply for a card must be accompanied by a parent or guardian with photo identification and proof of residency in Lake County to co-sign for the card.
Register for a Temporary Digital-Access Card online
Lake County residents without Lake County card can register for one by going to the website, http://mylakelibrary.org/ and select Get a library card. Follow the prompts and fill in where directed. Patrons will then pick-up their library card at the library they selected.
Non-Lake County Residents Fees
A non-resident who neither owns real estate property nor resides in Lake County, may get a card by paying a fee of $40.00 for an annual individual membership. ($20.00 for 6 months.) Annual card expires in one year of date of purchase.

Books and Audiobooks 21 days
DVDs (limit to 10 per card) 7 days
New Books 14 days Magazines 21 days
Items may be returned at any Lake County Library.
Renewals
Library materials may be renewed twice, except that Interlibrary Loans and items on reserve for someone else may not be renewed. Materials may be renewed in person, phone, or online.
Overdue materials may be renewed in person or by phone.
Overdue Fines
Books, Audiobooks, and DVDs $0.10 per day
Electronic Games $1.00 per day
Charges for lost or damaged materials will include the current replacement cost plus a $5.00 processing fee.
Online Catalog
The online catalog lists all materials in the library system. Click on Catalog Search to search for books and other materials and place holds using your library card.
Guard Your Card
You are responsible for all materials checked out on your card. Please report lost or stolen cards immediately. The first card replacement is free. The second replacement is $2.00.
